Since the first Assasins Creed title (which notably blew nearly every RPG players mind), Ubisoft has had a tendency to, well, force feed us ‘new’ games every year that aren’t really different to its predecessors.
According to Cinemablend Michael Fassbender says that the filmmakers involved with the adaptation already have sequels in mind:
“This is the sort of origin of his story. We have an idea of where he’s going to go over the next two films. We kind of did a three-film arc. We’ll wait and see how people respond to this, but for sure, we have an idea of where he’s going to go next.”
Of course, the end goal of any business is to make money and if the Assasins Creed franchises have been successfully milked, surely the movie industry can also be?
That being said not all game adaptations work well (look at most mortal Kombat movies or that horrendous 1993 Super Mario Bros. movie).
Let’s see how successful this movie will be and if it will warrant sequels.
