Launch Trailer for Dust: An Elysian Tail Revealed

August 12, 2012 by Lana Polansky

The side-scrolling titles signals the end of the Summer of Arcade.

Dust: An Elysian Tail is a stunning, hand-painted 2D side-scrolling action RPG coming to XBLA on August 15.

To mark the occasion, a new launch trailer showcasing the game’s fantastical story and gameplay, anthropomorphic animal characters and beautiful aesthetics has been released. This also signals the end of the annual Summer of Arcade promotion, which Microsoft has been holding since July 18.

What’s as impressive as the game itself is the fact that it was made by a team of one. Specifically, developer Humble Hearts is singularly operated by game designer Dean Dodrill, who has put a level or detail and refinement into the game one would expect of a team of much more manpower and a much bigger budget.

The game was already demonstrated at this year’s PAX East and received a positive reception.

Dust: An Elysian Tail will soon be available for download and will cost 1200 Microsoft Points.
