Battlefield 1 Will be Getting a Spectator Mode

December 12, 2016 by Jordan Coetsee

More details on the Battlefield 1 update have been released by DICE

With the new Battlefield 1 update coming up, DICE has released some more information about the update. Apart from the new DLC map (Giants Shadow) and new weapon (Grenade crossbow), there will be a new mode added called Spectator Mode.

The Mode is pretty much self explanatory (because its all in the name) but we can break it down for you anyway. Spectator mode will let players watch a live match as an observer. Players can switch between players and observe them from either a first person perspective or a third person perspective. There will also be a “birds-eye” view, which players can observe the whole battlefield from above. Lastly, there will be a “free-cam” option, in which players can go wherever they please on the map to watch and observe other players.

DICE will also be adding a new option to Custom Games. This option will limit all classes to using one rifle. “These weapons are not equipped with optics, and are intended to provide players with gameplay inspired by the WW1 trenches,” DICE said.

Shotgun power will also be adjusted as DICE found that certain shotguns were too powerful at certain distances. This is just another minor adjustment in addition to sprinting and spawning into landships, and syringe cooldown.

This new content will be released on December 20th for PC, Ps4< and Xbox One
