According to a recent Tumblr post, The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth+ (Afterbirth Plus) may be a contender for the Nintendo Switch. Tyrone Rodriguez, founder of the game’s publisher Nicalis hinted that Afterbirth+ would release on “one more console” in addition to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Rodriguez added that the development on the console versions is already underway, although the game will not release on PS Vita or Wii U. Instead, fans can look forward to an iOS port of The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth, which is due to come out by the end of this year. Originally rejected by Apple for depicting violence towards children, Rebirth has now been approved and will be available for iPhone and iPad. The game will be a ‘universal binary’, meaning once you purchase it for iPhone, it automatically becomes a free download on iPad.
The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth+ is slated for release in Spring of 2017. You can check out Rodriguez’ Twitter to stay on top of latest news for Rebirth and Afterbirth+.
