Xbox Taking a big leap in the VR Department

November 23, 2016 by Jordan Coetsee

Xbox going in the right direction in terms of VR.

Xbox One has taken a big leap forward in terms of VR and increasing their fan base. Yesterday Xbox confirmed that they have a new app that will allow players to stream Xbox One games to and Oculus Rift through their home network and Windows 10 PC. This new app will be available on the Oculus Store from December 12th of this year.

Although this is a big step for Xbox, it isn’t that big of a step. The new app won’t change all your Xbox One games into amazing virtual reality experiences. The app will simply stream games onto a screen, in selected virtual reality environments. This will essentially give players more privacy, and and will hopefully give the illusion of owning a bigger television.

This does seem promising for Xbox’s intentions in terms of virtual reality for the future, and appears to be a step in the right direction.
