Grand Theft Auto is easily one of the biggest videogame franchises in history, and the next title in the series—GTA 5—is expected to raise the experience to new heights. Set in the Los Angeles-inspired city of San Andreas, players are expected to take on the role of a reformed criminal who finds himself forced back into the game.
There’s a good chance that some new details of GTA 5 could be announced today as Take Two is having its first investor call for fiscal year 2013. The call takes place at 4:30 PM Eastern, so any news that surfaces from the call will show up sometime during the evening.
The company is expected to disclose its plans for 2013, including what it plans to do with the XCOM franchise, Bioshock Infinite, and most importantly GTA 5.
Take Two will not be showing GTA 5 at the upcoming Gamescom event in Germany, so there’s little chance that the game will make it out the door before the end of 2012. We’re more than likely to see its release sometime next year.
