Rainbow Six Siege Update Adds Caliber-Based Destruction, New Operators and More

November 17, 2016 by Ian Miles Cheong

A host of new content has been added to R6 Siege.

There’s a brand new update for Rainbow Six Siege, which will continue to receive updates and support  in the next year. The update, which comes out later today, adds a new map, two new operators, and a host of balance updates to existing operators and their armaments.

The gameplay patch comes out alongside Operation Red Crow, which also adds a new customization series called The Elite that will change the way your operators look. They’re signature skins for Season Pass holders and anyone who picks up Red Crow, and include uniforms, operator card, headgear, charm, name, and a victory animation. Kapkan, Sledge and Thermite will receive the Elite skins before anyone else.

In terms of new features, R6 Siege is getting a new caliber-based destruction system that provides each weapon with different damage attributes. The higher the caliber, the more damage it does to structures. Don’t expect the 9mm to do very much to a concrete wall, for example.

You can read the full list of changes on the official blog.
