Dishonored Dev on Wii U: I Don’t Know Why, But it Didn’t Show Up on My Filter Somehow

July 26, 2012 by Alex Co

Arkane Studios’ Harvey Smith states his opinion on the Wii U.

While Dishonored has not been announced for the Wii U, the game's co-creative director — Harvey Smith — was asked on his thoughts on Nintendo's upcoming platform.

In an interview with Games Industry, Smith was asked to share his thoughts on the Wii U since he's a designer of "hardcore" games. Smith admits that he doesn't know why, but the console didn't show up on his "filter" somehow.

When a new device comes out, that's a very fertile ground for exploring new ideas. Nintendo deserves accolades for that. I just don't know how far the new console goes. I didn't perceive what people's excitement of the device was. I don't know why, but it didn't show up on my filter somehow.

Though, in Smith's defense, he admits that he doesn't have an informed opinion since it feels like something "outside" of what he wants to do,

So, I take it, Dishonored won't be coming to the Wii U, no? If you want to see the latest footage from the game, click here.

Is this sort of talk from core games designers alarming to you or is Smith's assessment an isolated one?
