Stardock’s new real-time strategy game, Ashes of the Singularity: Escalation, is now available on Steam. Escalation is the standalone expansion for last year’s RTS, adding a host of new features to the game.

Among these new features is the new “huge” map size, which allows for well over a dozen players in free-for-all or comp-stomp. A new global view also allows players to use the mouse wheel to zoom all the way out and provide you with greater control over your massive military forces.

The addition of new landscapes and planets will also broaden where your units will do battle, including volcanic pits, burning terrain and massive crystal formations. This is enhanced by a variety of new map options for both single and multiplayer games.

In addition to all the new battlefields, players can check out a host of new units for both the PHC and the Substrate by augmenting their armies with heavy units, aircraft and support bots. There are also new orbital attacks for tactically-inclined players, and you will now be able to upgrade your defensive structures to be even more effective.

You can pick up the game directly through Stardock or through Steam. If you already own the original game, you can upgrade your copy for $19.99.
