Assassin’s Creed Gets the Tabletop Treatment

July 20, 2012 by Lana Polansky

Wizkid’s Heroclix releases an Assassin’s Creed version of the miniature tabletop series.

Available now from TrollandToad.com is an Assassin's Creed-themed Heroclix, a tabletop series from Wizkids, founded by Jordan Weisman (MechWarriors, Shadowrun). Born out of Mage Knight, a miniature game, Heroclix shares a similar conceit whereby miniature figurines feature a dial on their base that determine the stats of the character via "clicks." The stats and power of the character change each time the character takes damage, making the game strategic and varied in nature.

This new Assassin's Creed version of the game is not the first foray the series has made into videogame franchises. While the first set focused on heroes from the Marvel universe placed on a gridded map, DC heroes were later added, followed by figurines depicting characters from Halo and Gears of War. Heroclix has also featured figurines depicting characters from horror movies and smaller comic labels.

The Assassin's Creed set, pictured above featuring details from Revelations and Brotherhood, has you once again taking up the mantle of Ezio and his brothers to "defend all of Europe against the treacherous Borgias and Templars," according to the TrollandToad.com product description.

The set is available for $44.99.
