Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault is About Tower Defense

July 18, 2012 by Ian Miles Cheong

The upcoming Ratchet & Clank title for the PSN is set to offer tower defense and classic gameplay.

The Ratchet & Clank franchise lives! As a matter of fact, the developers have been hard at work on an all new entry into the series called Full Frontal Assault, with content that sounds a lot like Ratchet & Clank Meets Orcs Must Die.

Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault will feature the classic camera, weapons, and third-person gameplay that the series has long been known—or should I say, worshipped—for, and sees the addition of some brand new features including a new tower defense element that will have you building and defending a base against invasions with a variety of weapons at your disposal.

In the new game, players will face a new nemesis and have the option to play Ratchet, Clank, or Captain Quark in a campaign that's set across five, expansive levels on three different planets. The game is also set to offer cooperative mode for up to two persons in either split-screen view or online.

Finally, the developers plan to announce a new online mode for the game, in addition to weapon upgrades, character skins, and a host of unlockable content. In the meantime, check out the screenshots below.
