Watch the Official Opening Cinematics for Zone of the Enders HD Collection

Hideo Kojima, creator of mecha-action series Zone of the Enders, announced the HD re-release of games one and two back at E3 2011. Now, at San Diego Comic-Con 2012, a new trailer featuring a compilation of cinematics and gameplay footage has been unveiled.

Back in the days of the PS2, these games offered attractive art design, with the first displaying a slightly more dated 3D look and the second showing off a stunning mix of cel-shading and anime style (which has in many respects withstood the test of time.) Now, with the revamped Zone of the Enders and Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner on their way to PS3 and PS Vita sometime in the fall, Konami is busy rolling out some tantalizing examples of what we can expect from the refreshed re-releases. 

Kojima has a lot on his plate recently as we don't just have this re-release to look forward to, but Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance which is due out in 2013.
