July 11, 2012 by Ian Miles Cheong

A new action game called Malicious will be headed to the PSN later this month.

A new action game called Malicious, from Japanese studio Alvion, is headed to the PSN on July 24.

In Malicious, players take on the role of a “Spirit Vessel” awakened by prophets to defeat a race of evil giants called the Holders, who threaten to destroy The Kingdom. Armed with the Mantle of Cinders, the Spirit Vessel can use this powerful artifact to arm himself with a host of weapons and armor.

Not unlike the Megaman series of games, you’ll have the option to jump to a variety of stages and take on enemies until finally defeating the boss of that level. Defeating bosses will allow you to absorb their power, which you can then use to augment yourself with new skills and abilities.

Malicious will be available on the PlayStation Network at a price of $9.99 starting July 24, so be sure to keep an eye out for it.
