PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale Dev Shows Off Heihachi at EVO 2012

July 8, 2012 by Lana Polansky

Developer Omar Kendall shows off the Tekken character’s moves.

Developer Omar Kendall demonstrates Heihachi's moves and play style for Gamespot's Maxwell McGee at EVO 2012. The new PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale character, originally from the Tekken universe, gets a nearly 6-minute run-through, with Kendall thoroughly illustrating Heihachi's optimal strategies, his style and his move set for the new crossover fighting game.

Kendall describes Heihachi as a "close-range, melee fighter. He's well-suited to doing juggles and various tricks. We went very deep to try to replicate some of those very iconic Tekken moves."

PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale promises a pretty lengthy roster already, including the mascot Toro, PaRappa the Rappa and Chop Chop Master Onion, not to mention Kratos, Twisted Metal's Sweet Tooth, Sly Cooper, BioShock's Big Daddy, Uncharted's Nathan Drake and others. It'll be interesting to see how this game is balanced, considering the diverse cast.
