Activision has taken the move to register a number of new Chinese-related domains, presumably for the upcoming Treyarch shooter, Black Ops 2. Set in the year 2025, the story of Black Ops 2 involves a war between the United States and China.
The domains they've registered include CallofDutyChina.com, ModernWarfareChina.com, and BlackOpsChina.com, as well as phrases in Pinyin (Chinese words spelled in English).

Chances are, Activision is simply trying to protect its IP by buying up these domain names so squatters don't pick them up before they do. Activision had to deal with a domain squatter in the past who redirected ModernWarfare3.com to a page that praised the game's biggest competitor, Battlefield 3, while making light of the Call of Duty series.
