While it's been assumed by many that 4A Games' upcoming shooter Metro: Last Light was coming to Nintendo's Wii U, it seems that deduction was premature as THQ's Global brand manager Mark Madsen has admitted that the title is no longer a confirmed Wii U game.
Madsen, in an interview with Digital Spy, did concede that a "port" could still happen, but that it would also be "correct" to say that the game is no longer confirmed for the Wii U.
Not at the moment, it's not in development…If it does happen, it won't sim-ship with the other SKUs, but if the opportunity arises we'll take a look at it.
Of course, this assumption was perpetuated by the fact that Metro: Last Light was one of the games shown in Nintendo's third-party Wii U reel at last year's E3.
I'm presuming THQ's recent financial dilemmas might have contributed to this decision, no? I take it they might want to focus on "proven" platforms first before spending a lot of resources on a new platform. It does make sense if you think about it, but that doesn't make it easier for Nintendo fans.
