Modders Remake GTA III with GTA IV’s Rage Engine

May 28, 2012 by Ian Miles Cheong

A group of modders is remaking Grand Theft Auto III with the engine that powers GTA IV.

A team of modders plans to remake Grand Theft Auto III with the Rage engine that powers its sequel, Grand Theft Auto IV.

Known as the GTA III Rage Team, the team is including a number of mods it had already developed for GTA III like GTA III HD Cars, GTA SA: Liberty City, Project Oblivion, and GTA HD.

The plan this time around is to remake the game its entirety using GTA IV's Rage engine.

The team has yet to announce any dates for when it plans to complete the project, which it is working on as a hobby, but has published a teaser of the mod with the Scarface song playing in the background.
