Studio Wildcard has been taking a lot of decisions recently regarding ARK: Survival Evolved’s development.
Earlier this month, the studio announced that they are merging Ark: Survival Evolved and its standalone mod, Ark: Survival of the Fittest, due to the lack of resources and funds. The game’s PS4 version got delayed a number of times, and right now, the studio revealed that the decision to finally release Ark: Survival Evolved “is currently up to Sony.”
As for the PS4 Release of ARK: Survival Evolved, it is currently up to Sony. We’ve been informed that we can’t release the game on this platform until it has been finished. We would like nothing more than to make ARK available on PS4 as soon as possible, as we already have an awesome PS4 version of the game running internally. If you would like to see it sooner, please let Sony know, as it’s unfortunately not our decision.
Associate Producer and Community Manager Jat replied to fan on Twitter revealing that they are still targeting the holiday season.
Right now we're looking towards the Holiday season. The original release changed due to the growth/expansion of the game
