EA Trying to get More Games on its Origin Service

May 18, 2012 by Andrew Kent

If you have a game that has been funded through crowdsourced platforms then you might want to check this post out.

Origin has long since been a thorn in many gamer’s sides. Steam has been the choice of many gamers and even indie developers as well. However, EA is getting competitive, or not, with their Kickstarter incentive. If you have a game that is funded by a crowdsource platform such as Kickstarter or Indiegogo then EA will waive it’s distribution fees for 90 days. I’m not a developer so I don’t know if this is akin to a life saving technique or GameStop’s trade in program but I do know one thing. EA is trying to compete with Steam but whether or not this ploy works is yet to be seen.

What do you think dear readers? Is this a good thing EA is doing or bad? Generally EA hasn’t been doing a lot of good things lately.
