Month of Shear Madness (and Updates) Coming to Evolve

August 3, 2016 by Nick Monroe

In this first of a month long series, the Quantum Surge update brings a new Medic character.

Turtle Rock Studios has revived their video game Evolve by changing it to a free-to-play title. The next step of their Evolve Stage 2 program gives five weeks of new regular updates. The first of these is called the “Quantum Surge,” which comes with a new Medic character, Quantum Caira.

Quantum Caira has a Proton Field that damages enemies over time, while her Regeneration Field heals her Hunter allies. In addition to health replenishment, her Neutron Barrier gives an added damage-resistance buff to Hunters nearby. But if you have a problem choosing between damage or healing, the Generyst II Field can do both!

This Quantum update also brings a “Try Before you Buy” option to Evolve, where you can try out content that’s typically bought with Silver Keys for free in the game’s Training Mode. In addition to that, there’s more Advanced Hunter tutorials for players to study, as well balance changes, and measures to address the community’s concerns with matchmaking and the possibility of leavers. The full list of changes is over here, if you’re interested.

Evolve is available on PC, Xbox One, and PS4. To stay in the know about all the new updates planned for this month, check out the developer’s website, Twitter, and Facebook.
