Keiji Inafune of Harvest Moon and more recently Dead Rising fame, has finally revealed details about his magic based brawling game Soul Sacrifice for the PS Vita. Apparently the player is a slave of a mean and nasty sorcerer who wants to sacrifice said slave. You only escape by diving into the pages of a demonic book and increase your strength by experiencing the battle’s inside the book first hand.
Now, this part of the article is not for the faint of heart and I highly suggest you picture bunnies in your head while waiting for me to finish. Have the stomach for nastiness? Then read on. The magical attacks you gain in the game are quite gruesome to say the least. One such attack called “Excalibur†forces you to rip out your own spinal cord and use it as a sword. Others include Glepnir, Gorgon, and Gungnir. The Glepnir spell is where one has to chop off five fingers and punch foes with the bony stumps. Gorgon can only happen when you yank out your eyeballs, but in return you shoot magic beams from the sockets. Gungnir is an attack that makes your bones and nerves exposed to the open world.
As you can already tell, overusing this magic can and will make you U-G-L-Y, turning you into a demonic creature.
No news on when this game will release but it is half way completed. The game also supports up to four players so you can have a grand ol’ gorefest with your friends. Enjoy.
