LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens Dominates UK Charts for Fourth Week Straight

Every year, we suffer from the “gaming summer drought,” and this time, LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens took advantage.

According to GFK Chart-TrackLEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens has been number 1 for four weeks straight, and that’s mainly due to the lack of new strong releases, or even small ones since there is no new entries within the Top 40. If the game is successful in maintaining this momentum for this week as well, it will tie Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes’ record of five consecutive weeks at the top of the charts, which the game accomplished back in 2012.

It’s also worth mentioning that the overall UK sales went down by 29% over the course of last week. Here are the top 20 games of the week ending July 23, 2016:

  • LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens (down 39%)
  • FIFA 16 (down 13%)
  • Overwatch (down 30%)
  • Grand Theft Auto V
  • Doom
  • Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End
  • Call of Duty: Black Ops 3
  • Rocket League
  • Monster Hunter Generations (down 66%)
  • Minecraft: Xbox Edition
  • Star Wars Battlefront
  • LEGO Marvel’s Avengers
  • Fallout 4
  • LEGO Jurassic World
  • Mirror’s Edge Catalyst
  • Homefront: The Revolution
  • Pokemon Omega Ruby
  • Mario & Sonic: Rio 2016
  • Minecraft: Story Mode
  • Minecraft: PlayStation Edition

Do you think Minecraft: Story Mode Episode 7 or Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 1 & 2 will be able to knock LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens off the top of the charts?
