The original Watch Dogs didn’t do too bad, even with all the criticism, glitches, bugs and everything else. In fact, it was able to sell around four million copies just within its first two weeks
Ubisoft expects its sequel to “sit very close to what Watch Dogs did last time.” CEO Yves Guillemot was present in the studio’s recent earnings call, in which he said that “Watch Dogs 2 has the potential to be one of Ubisoft’s best-selling games of all time.”
Guillemot isn’t the only one feeling optimistic about the launch of this sequel, since CFO Alain Martinez also expressed his confidence in the title and believes that it is “very high potential AAA blockbuster for this year.”
“We believe that Watch Dogs is a very high potential AAA blockbuster for this year, we haven’t given… exactly the number of units [we] expect to deliver, but we do believe that Watch Dogs will sit very close to what Watch Dogs did last time. And as you said we might expect better.”
Watch Dogs 2 releases on November 15 for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
