Developer Squad recently announced that their space exploration game, Kerbal Space Program, is coming to consoles, but there was no release date.
Squad’s CEO Ezequiel Ayarza revealed PS4’s release date through the PlayStation Blog, and it’s coming on July 12 in North America. Kerbal Space Program allows to build and tinker with spaceships, rockets and different vehicles to get your Kerbal’s to space and perform various missions.
Ayarza talked about the redesigned controls and how the studio used the DualShock 4 to their advantage.
With completely redesigned controls and gameplay that’s challenging yet fun, you’ll have everything needed to conquer space with the Kerbals.
Flying your vessel has never been so fun in KSP — using the triggers and sticks on DualShock 4, you can have a more precise analog experience to make advanced maneuvers with your aircraft.
He also explained briefly the three game modes Kerbal Space Program offers.
Our game offers three gameplay modes: Sandbox, where you’re free to build anything your imagination can come up with; Science Mode lets you perform scientific experiments and advance the knowledge of Kerbals to unlock new technologies; and Career Mode, where you control every aspect of the space program, including crew management, reputation building, as well as embarking on side missions called “contracts” to earn funds and upgrade your space center facilities (or repair them).
There is still no word on Xbox One’s release date, but we expect it to get revealed pretty soon.
