Sunny and Solidus making a return for Revengeance

April 24, 2012 by Mat Growcott

A tweet from Raiden actor Quinton Flynn hints at the return of egg-making hero Sunny and, surprisingly, ex-president Solidus Snake.

A tweet from Quinton Flynn, the voice actor who has played Raiden throughout the Metal Gear Solid series, has hinted at a few characters we can expect to see in the upcoming Metal Gear: Revengeance. One is half-expected, if you think through the period of time part of Revengeance takes place. The other, far less expected.

Had the pleasure of working with John Cygan, Benito Martinez & Cristina Pucelli today under the direction of the esteemed Kris Zimmerman!

Kris Zimmerman is a long-time Metal Gear Solid stalwart and has worked on the English voice direction within the series for many years. Cristina Pucelli played Sunny in Metal Gear Solid 4, so it only makes sense that she'll be returning for Revengeance. The surprise, however, comes from John Cygan, the actor that once played Solidus Snake in the second game.

Solidus had a huge role in Metal Gear Solid 4, although it was hardly a speaking part. That means that there'll either be flashbacks to Raiden's less-than-standard childhood or perhaps an opening tutorial level featuring the character.
