Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance Gets a Release Date

Dream Drop Distance will introduce a new story and new gameplay elements to players on the Nintendo 3DS.

Square Enix announced today the release date for its upcoming Kingdom Hearts title for the Nintendo 3DS, Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance. The title, which is set after the events of the first two games, will be the series debut in full 3D and puts players back into the roles of Sora and Riku.

According to the press release, King Mickey and Yen Sid prepare for an impending threat by putting Sora and Riku through the Mark of Mystery exam. The duo are sent into the Sleeping Worlds, where they will face new enemies and gain new allies completely new to the series.

In addition to the all new story, Dream Drop Distance will introduce "never-before-seen gameplay elements" for the series when it's released on July 31 in the United States and July 20 in Europe. Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance is exclusive to the 3DS.
