Dark Souls PC Content Not Coming to Console Versions

April 20, 2012 by Ian Miles Cheong

Console versions of Dark Souls will not be getting the additional content slated for release on the PC.

Dark Souls Prepare to Die

From Software director Hidetaka Miyazaki apologized for the lack of news regarding the additional content slated to be released on the PC version of Dark Souls.

Titled Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition, the upcoming version of the game is expected to receive a load of additional content in the form of boss fights, locations, items, and characters—none of which will be seeing the light of day on the console version of Dark Souls.

Miyazaki-san expressed his apologies to console gamers in an interview with 360 Magazine.

"It’s completely understandable that people who bought the original version would ask about the additional content," he said. "[H]owever, as the director of Dark Souls I cannot say right now about whether or not this content will ever be available as DLC. But, I want to emphasis [sic] my sincere apologise [sic] to those players that bought the console version that we don’t have any news for them at this point."

The developer added that the new content was developed after the game's release. Let's hope Namco Bandai realizes how well the content would sell as DLCs should they decide to release it for the console.
