Team17 Releases A Different Statement To Clarify Allison Road’s Cancellation

Earlier this month, we were devastated and shocked to hear the cancellation of another promising P.T. spiritual successor, which was Allison Road.

Developer Lilith Ltd. released a statement a couple of days ago explaining the cancellation, but to be honest, it didn’t give us much and didn’t provide a good to explanation. Luckily, publisher Team17 wrote a response to VG247, in reply to their request for a comment on the situation.

Sadly, this response was no different and as vague as the first one. Till now, Allison Road’s cancellation is a mystery.

“After a long consideration between Lilith owner Chris Kesler and ourselves, we have reached a mutual agreement to end our collaboration on publishing Allison Road under Team17’s Games label. We love the concept and value Chris talent highly, but sometime things pan out differently than expected as game development and publishing have so many layers of complexity. The whole team here wish all the best to Chris on his current and future projects for which, before being a business partner, we are also a fan.”

We’ll just have to sit and wait for Kojima’s next game, Death Stranding, because I can tell it’s going to be one hell of a masterpiece.
