Xbox One Summer Sales Offer Huge Discounts and Free Games

June 14, 2016 by Ian Miles Cheong

Discounts for Xbox One bundles have just gone live.

Xbox One

Summer break got you itching to finally buy an Xbox One? Well, lucky for you the best deals since Black Friday have arrived from Microsoft. Several retailers are offering discounts around $50 on select console bundles, but the best offers on the market are at the Microsoft Store where you get discounts up to $80 off, a free controller ($60 value) and a free Ubisoft game of your choice.

The options you have for a free game are one of five: The Crew, Watch Dogs, Assassin’s Creed Unity, Just Dance 2016, or Just Dance: Disney Party 2. You’ll need to select your free game at the Microsoft Store in the first stage of checkout under the “Choose your free game” section (if you don’t choose a free game Microsoft will just send you to checkout without one).

  • Xbox One 1TB Spring Bundle + Controller + Free Game — $319 (list $400)
  • Xbox One 1TB Rainbow Six Siege Bundle + Controller + Free Game — $319 (list $400)
  • Xbox One with Kinect Bundle + Controller + Free Game — $349 (list $499)
  • Xbox One Elite Bundle + Controller + Free Game — $449 (list $499)
  • Xbox One Name Your Game Bundle + Controller + Free Game — $299.99 (list $350)
  • Xbox One Gears of War Bundle + Controller + Free Game — $299 (list $350)

Is there a better Bundle to get over another? While everyone is different, value-wise the Spring 1TB Bundle is the best option of the 8 bundles at Microsoft. Not only is it $80 with about $85 in bonuses (free controller + Ubisoft Game) but it’s a recently released bundle only arriving in April of this year. The bundle includes a ton of games for the price with Halo 5: Guardians, Gears of War: Ultimate Edition, Ori and the Blind Forest, and Rare Replay (which is 30 games in 1).

The deals here are about as good as we saw back on Black Friday, 2015. Why so good this off-season time of year? Well, E3 is right around the corner and afterwards we’ll inevitably get new Xbox One Bundles announced for the Holiday Season. It’s also possible Microsoft has some new hardware planned for the Xbox, and perhaps the new bundles will include it. We won’t know until E3 in mid-June, so it’s all speculation until then.
