NYC-based artist and retro videogame enthusiast John Stephen McGregor runs a little known tumblr called Brother Brain.
McGregor hopes to showcase some of our best memories in videogame history by turning them into repeating GIFs that emphasize the bold lines and bright colors through pixel art.
Each of the pictures is oversized and altered just precisely to bring out the pixel-perfect visual art of yesteryear, which were constrained—and therefore optimized and perfected—by the technical limitations of the computer hardware on which they performed.
