Xbox One & Xbox App Summer Preview Update Revealed

June 6, 2016 by Dennis Patrick

Check out some of the highlighted new features right here.

A new post on the official Xbox website shows off the new updates that are set to release over this summer for those attached to the Xbox One preview service. These new updates are said to be rolling out throughout the summer which will be aimed at the Xbox One and Xbox App. Check out some of the highlights down below.

Xbox One Specific

Cortana

Cortana will be coming to the Xbox One which is said to give the same experience as those on Windows 10 devices. Players will be able to use voice commands in order to accomplish common tasks, much like how the command features worked for the Kinect.

New Game Collection

Players will have more information and an easier time to launch or find a specific video game title. You’ll also find that there will be new tabs that will hold certain video games that may be readily available to install.

Facebook Friend Finder

If you connect your Xbox One to Facebook, a new feature will allow gamers to easily find friends through their Facebook account. This will make adding friends even easier while on Xbox Live.

Sharing Improvements

There were a few improvements that were made for sharing content through Xbox One which will vary between screenshots, GameDVR clips, and achievements.

Xbox App & Windows 10

Video Editor

Gamers will be able to video edit clips that were recorded on either Xbox One or PC. Once the video has been edited, it can be uploaded right back to Xbox Live through the Xbox app.

60 FPS Recording

While using the Very High video quality setting in the Xbox app, gamers can record clips up to 60 frames per second from the Game bar.

Sharing

A new feature will allow gamers to share clips or screenshots from Xbox Live to Twitter.

Game Bar Full-Screen Support

Gamers will now be able to use the Windows 10 GameDVR feature while in full-screen mode by using the Windows + G key combination.

Once again, these features will be rolling out over the next few weeks as the summer preview for Xbox One.
