Hideo Kojima shared the stories of how he met the stars of OD-KNOCK; Sophia Lillies, Hunter Schafer, and the late Udo Kier in the latest episode of KOJI10.
Udo passed away last November 2025, and Kojima attended his funeral. Still, Kojima revealed that he got to connect with him thanks to Guillermo del Toro. He got Udo’s OK via Zoom before meeting him in person.
Funnily enough, Kojima was already friends with Sophia in Instagram and completely forgot. She was recommended to him by Jordan Peele, and he went for it after seeing her in Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves. He got to know Sophia thanks to actor Wyatt Oleff, and the three even met up in a Prada event. Kojima didn’t confirm if this Prada event happened around the time PlayStation called him to cancel PHYSINT.
Finally Kojima was already a fan of Hunter Schafer when considering her, and he got to connect with her thanks to Norman Reedus. He’s very impressed with her, revealing she took care of Udo when they scanned him for three days.
We don’t know if Udo will still appear in OD-KNOCK posthumously, perhaps as tribute, but Kojima remains optimistic.
