The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered has now launched for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Switch 2.
There are free updates for the game on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and from Nintendo Switch to Switch 2. But that’s not all that there is to this new version.
CD Projekt RED went beyond visual upgrades across the board. As explained in Xbox Newswire:
When looking at The Witcher 3 holistically, it became clear that there are ways to bring skill trees and character building more in-line with what a modern RPG audience might expect or be used to.
And so, the game’s patch notes describe some of these changes. For example:
Improved the skill system. Skills are now organized into a skill tree and each skill has three ranks.
Unlocking new skills now requires having the necessary prerequisite skills rather than spending a set number of skill points.
IMPORTANT: As a result of these changes, your skill points have been reset.
CD Projekt RED also added cross platform mod support, path tracing on PC, PSSR support on PS5 Pro, and multiple motion control and mouse mode options on Switch 2.
