Some fans have found evidence of what Activision is doing with Halo now.
On the record, Activision has announced that they are assembling a team for the next game. Off the record, TechnicalHalo shared this on social media:
looked through all the Activision positions, looking like sledgehammer games is hiring for Halo in Toronto/Bay Area, Treyarch could be on Halo too. The descriptions for these positions don’t refer to call of duty like the other positions do.
When probed further, TechnicalHalo pointed out that Activision didn’t directly deny that one of their existing studios would be working on the game. Between Infinity Ward and Treyarch, it does make sense that they could move Sledgehammer to this project.
And TechnicalHalo also explained that there was an earlier rumor that Sledgehammer was making a Halo game. This rumor was supposedly debunked. But as it turns out, their source had an email that just said it was not yet greenlit.
This all points to these Activision – Halo plans being in the works for much earlier than we know. And does this mean Halo Studios’ fate was already decided months ago?
