Kojima Productions has officially commented on rumors about PHYSINT.

Two weeks ago, XBOX announced they were now publishing PHYSINT after PlayStation walked away from the project.
Jason Schreier reported on Bloomberg and his YouTube that some of the reasons Sony came to this decision was that both Death Stranding games sold below expectations, PHYSINT was missing milestones and going over budget.
In a statement on social media, Kojima said this:
None of the claims written came from any official or on-the-record source and as such we encourage you to take them with a dose of scepticism.
…While we recognise that the article may have caused alarm, we want to reassure you all, for the record: that the studio is in a healthy, profitable state, development for PHYSINT continues to move forward with XBOX, and our relationship with PlayStation remains strong.
Neither Hideo Kojima nor Kojima Productions directly address Schreier’s claims, as Schreier himself points out. But this statement doesn’t seem to be intended to stoke internet drama for our entertainment.
Rather, it’s carefully worded to reassure the public, and the industry, that Kojima Productions is in good standing to make and finish PHYSINT.
