We now have reason to believe a recent unreleased Gearbox game is real.

EpicNNG made this comment on social media:
I can confirm the latest Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands Sequel Images are not fake, contrary to the last information that popped up regarding the situation. Completely real information, and screenshots.
Not sure if I want to cover this further, or add to the information now coming out. Situation was very messy, though.
EpicNNG is alluding to images shared by MP1st, who themselves sourced it from an artist who worked on the game.
The artist worked for Lost Boys Interactive, which was briefly owned by Gearbox under Embracer. When Embracer made the deal to sell Gearbox to Take-Two, Lost Boys was left with Gearbox. After experiencing layoffs, Lost Boys bought themselves out.
Today, Lost Boys is co-developer on the WWE 2K games, and Gearbox had a successful launch for their latest Borderlands 4 DLC, FL4K and the Last Resort.
Gearbox may also have put Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands 2 through a soft reboot, so we may see this project resurface in some form in the future.
