The Pokémon Company has brought some big news for their most loyal soldiers, good and bad alike.

They just announced that Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen for Nintendo Switch are getting support for Pokémon Home this October. This will allow you to carry over your Pokémon from these games to other games. If you register these games to your Pokémon Home account, you can earn Celebi for free, even without transferring any Pokémon.
Pokémon Home is also getting upgraded to Version 4.1.0, raising capacity from 6,000 to 9,000 Pokémon. And now comes the bad news.
After 13 years, the Pokémon Bank app on 3DS is finally ending on February 25, 2027. This predecessor to Pokémon Home had a capacity of 3,000 Pokémon, and allowed transfer of Pokémon from the Pokémon games published on 3DS, including on 3DS Virtual Console.
Fans remember the frustration when Pokémon Bank started getting deprecated, but at one point, hackers compromised the system so that they could add clones to Pokémon Bank.
Pokémon Bank had other issues, such as requiring a subscription and not being reliable at transfers, but the best way forward now is providing better services to save Pokémon.
