The TGAs have announced their date and venue for 2026.
They made the announcement on their website:
The Game Awards 2026 will take place on Thursday, December 10, streaming live from Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.
More details coming later this year.
Expectations are high this year, as the first event since 2013 where a new Grand Theft Auto game will be releasing, and be eligible for award nominations.
Last 2013, the year of the last Spike Video Game Awards event, GTA V swept the awards, from GOTY, Best PlayStation and Xbox Game, down to character of the year and best voice actor for Trevor Philips and performer Steven Ogg.
Now, it may not be a foregone conclusion that GTA 6 will pull this off again, since we don’t 100 % know for sure if it’s a good game, much less awards worthy. But we all know the fans are already predicting this will happen, and Rockstar knows they’re being judged by that yardstick.
