Rockstar may finally be starting that giant marketing push for GTA 6.

They made this announcement on their newswire:
Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look will premiere on Netflix Thursday, August 27 at 3 p.m. ET and will also launch on the official Rockstar Games YouTube channel and the Grand Theft Auto VI site at 9 p.m. ET on August 27.
They paired the announcement with some new art of our protagonists, Jason and Lucia. There’s no questioning what kind of game this is, though… both are carrying pistols and wearing scarves over their faces.
There’s a lot of speculation on why Take-Two chose this route, but it does indicate the strong relationship they have with Netflix. What we would point out is although YouTube is free, Netflix is the bigger and more mainstream platform. It’s more likely to reach the lapsed GTA fans who don’t stay in touch via video game websites or content creators.
And so, whether money exchanged hands to make this happen or not, we can see why Take-Two went with Netflix over other platforms or venues.
