Another Rockstar game is set to leave Netflix on mobile – but you can still find ways to keep playing it.

As reported by RockstarIntel, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas – The Definitive Edition is set to leave Netflix on December 12, 2025. That means Netflix subscribers won’t be able to play it anymore using their account, on Android and iOS.

What’s The Deal With Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas – The Definitive Edition?

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is of course the 3rd classic open world game that came to PlayStation 2 and Xbox. This time, you follow CJ as he finally comes back home to San Andreas to get his neighborhood back right and solve the mystery of his mother’s murder.

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas – The Definitive Edition is the version of the game that comes bundled with Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition. This version of the game was made by Video Games Deluxe, now known as Rockstar Australia.

Why Is The Game Leaving Netflix?

Rockstar made a deal with Netflix to produce new mobile versions of the Grand Theft Auto games, and this has been hugely successful. This deal is simply running up after two years.

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas – The Definitive Edition stuck around a little longer because Netflix asked for an extension. Netflix didn’t pen a new contract to bring the games back, at least for now.

If Rockstar is charging Netflix more to get the games back, don’t expect them to return for Netflix subscribers. The two companies do seem to have an ongoing relationship, as Rockstar just gave Netflix a new mobile version of WWE 2K25.

How Can We Play The Game Now?

First things first, we do not recommend you play Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition on PC or consoles. The PC and console versions across the board are simply at a different quality level, and are likely to disappoint.

Since Grand Theft Auto III – The Definitive Edition and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City – The Definitive Edition are in GTA+, it’s highly likely that Rockstar will also add Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas – The Definitive Edition to the subscription service as well. Rockstar hasn’t announced anything, but it certainly seems likely.

Lastly, you can buy these three games on iOS and Android directly. You can also choose to buy and download them separately, so feel free to pick between them.
