Should More GTA 6 Screenshots Be Released Monthly?

December 2, 2025 by Todd Black

It’s for the hype!!!

You know about the five stages of grief, right? How we go from one emotional stage to the next to try and get through the pain we’re feeling? One of those stages is “bargaining,” where the person, or group of people, throws out any kind of bargain possible to try and get what they want, or at least SOMETHING to make themselves happy. In the case of GTA 6, many gamers would likely do all kinds of sacrifices to try and get the game out sooner. Thankfully, the “bargain” we’re showing you today is a lot more tame. On Reddit, one person asked why Rockstar Games doesn’t just drop screenshots every month to keep the “hype” up:

“They had no issue dropping 100 screenshot with 2nd trailer but somehow getting a few each month is too much too ask. Just give us 5 screenshots every months. We need it badly.”

Like we said, “Bargaining.” They’re not even asking for the third trailer to drop, but just to get a few more looks at Vice City and its cast of characters so they have SOMETHING to hold onto. In truth, this wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world to do. If Rockstar made it a regular drop on a certain day, it certainly would add a level of hype to things, as fans would be waiting with bated breath every month to see what new screenshots would pop up for them to analyze.

So, why wouldn’t they do such a thing? One comment made the situation rather clear:

“Probably because of the leaks, and their current safety control, they are being very careful to what and when to show stuff. A one time event is easier to control then an every month event.”

Leaks have been a problem for GTA 6, even when they’re fake leaks or AI-generated videos. Another person pointed out that if the team wasn’t careful, they could show off “most of Vice City” via the screenshots before players even got into the game! We don’t think that’s very likely, given how big the title would be, but the point stands that Rockstar Games likely wants to keep things “as close to the vest” as possible.

Finally, MANY people sounded off on the “we need it badly” and “add to the hype” comments by correctly noting that the game is already at fever-pitch hype levels. It doesn’t NEED anything, except for it to finally release.
