We got a huge warning from someone in the now about all the fake Grand Theft Auto 6 rumors going around online.

We just got a Grand Theft Auto 6 leak that was confirmed to be real. Ironically, the confirmation was Rockstar possibly having the leaked video be pulled down.

But this time, we’re looking at a different kind of rumor.

Kiwi Talkz Speaks Out

Reece Reilly, AKA Kiwi Talkz, made a quote tweet responding to a rumor that Grand Theft Auto 6 could be delayed again to 2027 or longer.

Reilly said this:

This is total BS, I can confirm that GTA 6 is still too far out to determine if another delay is needed yet.

These people are just stirring the pot for engagement. If I hear rumblings of another delay I will let you know but for now stop believing this crap.

Relax GTA fans

Taking Advantage Of The FUD

FUD is an acronym for fear, uncertainty, and doubt. It’s a manipulation tactic associated with politics as well as advertising.

But sometimes, people will spread FUD with no clear financial or political incentive. In this case, the people spreading fake rumors about another Grand Theft Auto 6 delay don’t really have a lot to gain.

While it’s true that they can get some attention, they will immediately lose that attention and reputation when they get debunked. So what is even the point of this behavior?

Sometimes, the FUD spreads without a real instigator. People expressing their fears that Grand Theft Auto 6 could be delayed could be misinterpreted as a rumor, even without a source.

We need to be cognizant that sometimes the FUD spreads itself, like a fire. As Reilly explains, it is possible to find sources who will confirm from the inside if Grand Theft Auto 6 is facing difficulties in development and will need delays.

Since that standard can be applied, we shouldn’t just listen to any rumor that comes from someone with no prior credibility.

Kiwi Talkz Explains The Hazard Of Finding Rumors

Reilly was asked if it was possible to confirm something about the driving mechanics in Grand Theft Auto 6. He said this:

hmmm, I could probably find out but that’s moving into a level of specifics that if I found out and leaked would undoubtedly become a headline for gaming publications, it would ruin my relationships with devs there, cause a shitstorm internally and put a massive target on my back at Rockstar.

Not worth it

So if you were wondering why people with sources who report or share information about video games are mum about Grand Theft Auto 6, this is the reason why.
