GTA 6 Is Getting Trolled…By A Building

November 10, 2025 by Todd Black

It’s the stuff Empires are made of…

Since we now have over a year, at the minimum, to wait for GTA 6, there are a few things that you can expect to see in abundance in the meantime. For example, you’ll see plenty of people trying to “cope” with the situation they’re now forced into, and many others attempting to figure out “what exactly needs polishing” to the level that Rockstar Games likes to understand what exactly delayed the game. The other thing you absolutely can look out for is memes talking about how “This came out before the game.” We’re already seeing them right now, but one we just noticed is arguably the best of the bunch.

You see, in New York City, which was the inspiration for Rockstar’s Liberty City, there are many famous things. Arguably, among the most important things are the buildings that help make up its legendary skyline. One such building is the Empire State Building, which was once the tallest building in the world, and is one of the most iconic buildings ever, especially due to its “role” in various TV shows and movies, including being the building that King Kong climbed and fell to his death on.

Anyway, the building has an official Twitter account, and when GTA 6 got delayed, the ones who run the handle said…

It took one year to build me https://t.co/6oSg4o6az6

How does Rockstar Games say it when the character dies? Oh yeah, “WASTED!!!!!”

Yeah, the building just owned the video game, and there’s more to this than you likely think. History lesson, kids!

First off, yes, the Empire State Building took just over a year to release. Just as important, though, is that, just like video game development, it took a little bit of planning to get things off the ground, literally, and then a bunch of people to make things happen.

The difference, though, is that the Empire State Building had things starting in the pre-production phase in 1929, and yet, things were still finished in 1931. In contrast, Rockstar Games “claims” that things began for its title back in 2020. No one really buys that, though. Even if it was trust, that’s six years to make the full game, which is stunning for the manpower reasons.

When the Empire State Building was built, it had about 3400 people working on it at max. Currently, Rockstar Games has well over 4,000 people working under its branches. Some even say 6,000!

So, despite all of that, the game isn’t done, and yet, the Empire State Building was made in a fraction of the time. Go figure.
