Rockstar Is Fixing The Strangest Ludendorff Survival Bug in Grand Theft Auto Online

October 27, 2025 by Ryan Parreno

There’s some novelty to this bug, so it’s too bad it also breaks the game.

Fans have found a strange bug in Grand Theft Auto Online that Rockstar has confirmed is real.

The Context: This Month’s Survival Events

As we had reported, Rockstar has scheduled Halloween themed events for the whole month of October. That includes zombie survival modes, similar to Call of Duty’s original wave- based Zombies mode.

They originally launched Cayo Perico Survival, set in the one new piece of land added to Grand Theft Auto Online’s map. Last week, they also added Ludendorff Cemetery Survival, set in the pivotal location where the events of Grand Theft Auto V started.

We found two fans explaining the bug on Twitter.

ShadowbeastOG shared this explanation (edited for clarity):

Can’t believe they added cayo perico zombies in north Yankton which makes it a lot harder than it did before lol 😆 even splitter zombies, skeleton piano, skeleton pirate with shot gun, and even panther zombies lol wth is going on added that after reaching wave 11 lol 🤣

Ragnarson70 also talked about the bug on Twitter:

Ludendorf Survival is complete broken.

As you can see, strange black graphic artifacts.

At endless waves spawn Cayo Perico survival Zombies, like Panther Trainer, DJ, and so on.

I was hyped to Ludendrof Survival. Well, at least you can count on one thing: R* ruins everything.

Rockstar Acknowledges The Bug

GTAForum users also noticed the issue. It does seem that not everyone was affected. User Aragorn71 shared this update on the forum:

Update on “Ludendorff has a bug”…

R* asked for a video of it happening, so I found Jimbatron’s stream and sent them to that.  GOt a Tier 2 response telling me to submit feedback and closing the ticket.

From which I conclude that either it WAS deliberate, or at least they’re not going to fix it.

So..no more Ludendorff for me.

Finally, Tez2 shared a much needed update:

Rockstar has acknowledged it’s a bug and that a fix is planned with the next TU.

As explained by Harryodini588 on Twitter, TU refers to Tunables Update. Rockstar has recently been posting Tunables updates every Thursday of the week.

So it may take that long before Rockstar is able to push the update. Of course, we hope that Rockstar can push that update sooner.

We imagine some players who saw the Cayo Perico Zombies freezing themselves in Ludendorff might have gotten some novelty out of it. But since it also unbalances the gameplay, they should fix that before the Halloween events end.
