WWE 2K has shared a new video preview for one of the game’s latest additions, Ron Cena.

Who Is Ron Cena?

We believe there’s a generation of pro wrestling fans who may only remember the past decade since they became part of Endeavor and TKO.

But there’s also fans who were there in the Attitude era, and bowed out of watching years ago.

Ron Cena is something of a throwback, but not as far back as the era of WWE and WCW. While Cena is one of the superstars who ushered in the Ruthless Aggression era, Ron Killings, AKA R-Truth, AKA K-Kwick, was one of the last superstars of the Attitude era.

Curiously enough, Killings was released from the WWF in 2001. Around that time, Cena was still training in Ohio Valley Wrestling before his debut in the company.

So there was a good six to seven year period when Killings was in NWA: Total Nonstop Action at the same time Cena emerged to be the new face of the WWE.

Both became world champions and main eventers of their promotions. Killings was finally resigned to the WWE in 2008.

Killings and Cena first met up in 2011. The two were part of Team WWE, which also included Edge, Chris Jericho, John Morrison, R-Truth, Bret Hart. and Daniel Bryan.

Team WWE faced the Nexus in SummerSlam 2010. Through the years, Cena and Killings would both feud and team with each other.

The Story of Ron Cena

Ron Cena literally did not exist until four months ago. But there’s no doubt that it’s one of the most memorable moments of both Cena’s and Killing’s careers.

Cena turned heel at the start of his retirement tour, finally cashing in on his resentment for how he was disrespected through the years. Cena attacked Killings after interrupting him in a press conference.

In the buildup to that match, Killings gave some heartfelt, if strange, promos about looking up to Cena. Killings is five years older, but claimed that Cena was his childhood hero.

This all culminated in Saturday Night’s Main Event. Cena successfully defeated Killings in a non-title match.

However, Cena had to face not R-Truth, or K-Kwick, but Ron Cena – R-Truth copying Cena’s babyface persona to the hilt.

Ultimately, Ron Cena should be a one-note one-night comedy gimmick. But because Killings was a central figure in Cena examining his heel turn, it’s memorable in its own way.

Ron Cena is part of the recently released John Cena Farewell Tour DLC. You can watch his official ring entrance below.

Step in the ring? You must be insane. Ron Cena’s here, he’s ending your name. 🎤💥10/16 #RonCena #WWE2K25 #FirstLook pic.twitter.com/BcQ9Dyaq2u
