Are We Losing A Notable Series Feature In GTA 6?

September 10, 2025 by Dennis Patrick

Farewell?

Grand Theft Auto VI is still in the works. We’re waiting, like everyone else, for Rockstar Games to release this one. Hopefully, we won’t see any more delays that would push this game further back. Regardless, while fans wait, they’re left looking for any information they can find on what to expect from GTA 6.

In fact, one prominent insider that fans have followed for news regarding Rockstar Games is Tez2. Recently, a new post from this insider revealed several URLs that may be directly connected to the upcoming game. Of course, we don’t know for certain if this is the case yet, but one URL has fans wondering if we are seeing the end of a notable feature.

Taxis Are No Longer An Option In GTA 6?

Thanks to the folks over at Screenrant, we’re finding out about this tidbit of information. Tez2 noted that they uncovered several domains registered under Take-Two. Likewise, the speculation is that these domains are related to various in-game companies that players can utilize. Though we’ll have to wait and see how this turns out, speculation is that maybe we’re removing taxis from the games going forward.

In reality, taxis are few and far between here. They are certainly not as prevalent in cities as they once were. That’s because various ride-sharing services have been popping up. How often do you call a taxi instead of using services like Uber?

A URL noted as rydeme.app has been discovered. It’s speculated that this will be the in-game version of Uber. That could mean we’ll get different types of vehicles to pick us up and take us around the city, rather than using a taxi. Of course, we’re also wondering if this might be a viable option to make some money in-game.

Again, all we can do is wait and see what Rockstar Games has cooking up. Taxis have always been a part of the series, but maybe it’s time they went away? That said, we do have some time to wait before we get our hands on a copy. GTA 6 was delayed to May 26, 2026, for the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S platforms. While this might have been a bummer for players, other studios were celebrating the news.
