In an interview with GameReactor, Hideo Kojima provided some more details about his own studio, Kojima Productions.
Hideo Kojima recently went on a tour, and he revealed afterwards that it was to search for an appropriate third-party engine to use on his upcoming, so the people and his fans won’t have to wait long before they experience his studio’s debut game.
In the interview, he talked about how he wants to build his studio similar to the way LittleBigPlanet and Dreams developer Media Molecule works, with a relatively small but creative staff members.
“We aim to make a kind of small, intimate type of studio, and I felt like Media Molecule in London is quite similar to what I’m trying to make,” that’s why he wants to keep his staff number as low as 100 people, so he can personally “connect” with them.
“He wants to connect to the developers directly… So it will be around 100 people, but not more. Keep it that size,” Kojima’s translator explained.
He also went on to talk about how at these studios, the most important part is the kitchen, referring to DICE’s Stockholm headquarters.
“I’ve found that at any studio the kitchen is very important… I saw at DICE in Stockholm they had 40 microwaves, and also there’s so many coffee makers, and I understood that that is very important.”
We personally can’t wait to see a glimpse of Kojima’s next project, but we all know already that it’s going to be a blockbuster.
