Peter Molyneux has announced his departure from Microsoft and Lionhead. He made the surprise announcement on Twitter, and wished the two companies the best of luck.

Molyneux says he will continue to remain in game development at a new studio called 22 Cans. Little else is known about his decision at the moment, or the games he plans to create at his new digs.
