FromSoftware has quite the following, and their latest big hit, Elden Ring, took the world by surprise. It was the action RPG everyone had to get and enjoy back in 2022. Fans are still loving this game and its DLC. However, with the latest trend of video games getting adapted into television series or movies, we’re not surprised that there was a push to get this game thrown into the big screen.
Today, we’re learning that Elden Ring is getting a live-action movie. There have been murmurings in the past that there was interest in getting a movie adaptation in the works. However, now it looks to be official, as we’re learning that production has been picked up thanks to a report from IGN. As you can imagine, there wasn’t much we could highlight since this was just announced. Still, there are some details about who is involved with this production.
According to the report from IGN, A24 is bringing this movie out with the help of Bandai Namco Entertainment. It looks like Alex Garland, known for films like Ex Machina, is stepping into the role of director and film writer. Another notable name to attach to the project is George R. R. Martin, who is producing the film. If you recall, Martin also helped out FromSoftware with some world-building and lore with the game. So, we’ll be waiting even longer to get our hands on the next novel installment to his series, A Song of Ice and Fire.
However, one individual that fans might be interested in learning about a potential attachment to the production is the man behind the game, Hidetaka Miyazaki. So, for now, we’ll have to wait and see if there is any news.
Meanwhile, FromSoftware has been busy. We know that Elden Ring Nightreign is coming our way soon. But beyond that, there was the official announcement this past month during the Nintendo Direct that FromSoftware has a Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive. You can learn more about that game, The Duskbloods, right here.
