Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet is the next big video game from the folks over at Naughty Dog. It’s also their first new IP in quite some time. Coming off of The Last of Us Part II, their next title will seek to deliver a science-fiction experience set thousands of years in the future. Unfortunately, don’t anticipate any major leaks with this game like we saw with The Last of Us Part II.
We’re waiting for new details for Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet. After it was first revealed to the public at The Game Awards 2024, it will likely be tucked away for a while. However, we’re finding out now that not even the actors who are stepping into various roles for this game’s storyline are told much.
This news comes from Dexerto, which had the chance to speak with Stephen A. Chang. For those unaware, Stephen is an actor who worked on The Last of Us Part II as Jesse. Now, he’s stepping into a mysterious role for Naughty Dog’s next project. According to Stephen, he has just started working on some stuff for the game. Much like everyone else, he’s trying to piece together what’s going on with the story, as he doesn’t know much more than the rest of us.
Stephen only saw the announcement trailer a week before The Game Awards. When performing for the game, actors are only given snippets of scripts to work from. That said, this was the same process as how The Last of Us Part II was filmed. The actor noted that there would only be small sections of the script given, and they might not even be in chronological order.
There are likely even more restrictions on how much is readily unveiled to those attached to the project. Hopefully, that means the production can progress through the game and eventually see it launch without fans already getting its storyline spoiled.
Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet doesn’t have a launch window attached yet. We might be a good way off from its intended release, but you can expect it on the PlayStation 5 when it does launch. For now, you can view the announcement trailer for the game in the video we have embedded below.
